Gnyanam – A word to the wise,,,

Right to die, Right to Live

Posted in society by Satya on February 12, 2009

While the industrialised world struggles with the idea of letting sick people who want to end it all go to the brighter worlds, millions of healthy people in the less industrialised world who want to live and get educated are dying for lack of money. If the money that is spent on the healthcare of those who want to throw in the towel is diverted say to a village in India or Africa, a village may be taken care of either education, food or medical care.

And that one who is leaving for the brighter world will take that much extra ‘punyam’ with him or her.

What’s sad is the post industrialized nations of the world have enough food to get everyone “fat”. What’s even sadder is countries like India export major amounts of food while their people starve. The top 20% of richest people in the world own 84% of the worlds wealth! It’s a shame and it’s dissapointing and it’s all politics…

Rich societies worry about a right to die, while poor societies have to fight for a right to live!
