Right to die: Destination India
If anyone is serious about their right to die, they should quietly book a ticket here. I am serious.
A Jain lady with cancer, fasted to death, on TV, in the presence of lots of people and is considered saintly, by many including me. I know a family so short on funds, that when they told the doctor that they could not afford any more treatment, the patient was sent home. She tried some alternative treatments that she could afford and died within a year. Her husband died on the hospital bed with no funds to drag his life out beyond reason.
In India abortion is legal and this is good. Right to life??
Farmers committed suicide in droves a few months back. Nothing happened to stop them.
The question of the right to die comes up only if you have hospital insurance or a large amount of money. Otherwise no one will care to keep you alive.
